Job Summary:
The Assistant Maintenance Technician supports the maintenance team in ensuring that all equipment, facilities, and systems are operating safely and efficiently. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, troubleshooting equipment issues, and helping maintain a clean, safe working environment. The ideal candidate is a reliable, hands-on problem solver with basic knowledge of building systems and a strong willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities.
Support the Maintenance Technician or Supervisor with repairs and troubleshooting tasks.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and help resolve issues in a timely manner.
Perform basic repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems under supervision.
Maintain maintenance tools and equipment in good working condition.
Keep maintenance and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Assist in documenting maintenance activities, work orders, and repairs.
Follow safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities, or a related field is a plus.
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various conditions.
Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as needed.
