Daily Workflow:

» Prepare and process legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence.

» Transcribe dictation and manage electronic and paper document storage.

» File and serve legal documents following state and federal court formatting rules.

» Maintain client files, schedule appointments, and safeguard confidential information.

» Communicate with clients, courts, and government agencies as needed.

» Assist with financial record-keeping, including billing and accounts receivable.

» Observing the Oregon Rules of Professional Conduct, the ethical rules that govern lawyers and their staff. 

» Notarize documents and prepare court exhibits as required.

» Occasionally testifying in court or testifying by means of written documents such as declarations.


We’re Seeking:

» Legal assistant experience required.

» Post-high school education preferred.

» Proficiency in WordPerfect and Microsoft Word (or willingness to learn both).

» Experience with transcription/dictation software and legal terminology.

» Ability to work with the public 

» Must be able to work with little supervision 

» Strong grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills.

» Ability to type at least 50 words per minute.

» Valid driver’s license required; notary experience preferred.

» Technical computer skills are a plus.

» Must be able to pass a background check & drug test.

» Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a DMV records check.



Schedule:

» Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours per week).
