This position manages, develops, and directs a team of Design Engineers in the conversion of engineering design drawings into detailed part drawings for manufacturability and bills of material. Additionally, this position is responsible for partnering with Sales, Design Engineering and Manufacturing to assist in the development and fabrication of our product.

Seeking a BSME with 10 years’ experience designing large pieces of equipment and machines, working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor, as well as steel plate, structural fabrication, and shop practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, assign and direct work. Aid in interview, hire and training employees. Develop and deliver performance appraisals. Reward and discipline employees. Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Takes proactive approach in partnering with Contract Sales, Design Engineering and Manufacturing to improve manufacturability and productivity.
  • Guides engineering personnel who are responsible for the review and conversion of engineering design drawings into detailed piece part drawings for manufacturability and bills of materials.
  • Continuously look for ways to control costs by eliminating unnecessary costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Effectively utilize available technology to enhance productivity.
  • Fully support the Company’s ISO objectives, policies, procedures and the other programs.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience designing large pieces of equipment and machines.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Working knowledge of steel plate, structural fabrication, and shop practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office products.
  • The ability to anticipate customer needs and identify business problems and evaluate current business environment.
  • The knowledge to access appropriate resources to accomplish tasks and the ability to apply policies, procedures and regulations when necessary.
  • The ability to identify the impact of trends and patterns, on the organization.  Evaluate the cause and effect of relationships and events and anticipate potential threats and/or opportunities. 
  • Anticipate and resolve team breakdowns resulting from change.  Identify and remedy barriers to change, and proactively promote the benefits of change.   
  • The ability to promote a healthy climate in which people can grow and develop.
  • The ability to set goals that reflect the organizations priorities and always measuring the impact of decisions on the bottom-line. 
  • The ability to employ confidence and trust of others in personal character and job competence.
  • The ability to interact with others in a professional manner.
