SUMMARY:

Supervise and manage the production as well as the process improvement of the department and staff. Determine and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement.  Administer company policies and procedures including compliance programs as appropriate. Interface with engineering regarding design improvements.  Participate in the selection of manufacturing equipment.  


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline preferred, not required.
  • Minimum 10 years industrial production supervisory experience with at least 3 years of managing a workforce of 50+ employees.  (This is a requirement to apply for the position.)
  • English language with working proficiency in understanding and speaking Spanish.


SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Knowledge of engineering concepts and methods such as bills of material, product costing, machine and tooling design and reading, analyzing, and working with CAD blueprints.
  • Proficient in managing, controlling, and improving processes; organizing workflow for maximum efficiency and identifying and eliminating bottlenecks and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement thereby assuring on time delivery.
  • Proficient in monitoring, measuring, and reducing material scrap, labor waste, production waste, minimizing WIP (work in progress) inventory and lead times.
  • Proficient in training, motivating, and developing all staff and managing all production and employee issues as well as administering company policy.
  • Proficient in managing the manufacturing of high-quality products.
  • Proficient in determining design improvements, the selection of equipment and ensuring a safe OSHA compliant work environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Support engineering, production, and quality needs of other departments.
  • Manage, control, and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Organize production workflow and communicate status to senior management.
  • Minimize work in process inventory.
  • Minimize manufacturing lead times.
  • Develop and train group leaders and supervisors.
  • Manage all production and employee issues including reviews, benefits, and disciplinary matters.
  • Motivate, train, and develop employees.
  • Manufacture products of the highest quality.
  • Proven track record of accomplishments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving and project management skills.
  • Leadership, staff motivation and staff development skills.
  • Must become knowledgeable of all basic functions of the manufacturing business.
