Responsibilities:

• Oversee the design of automation for a variety of products and assemblies using knowledge of electronic controls, pneumatic actuators, mechanical systems, and operator interfaces. 
• Oversee the development of new automation concepts/specifications or make improvements to existing products with input from a number of sources (i.e., manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, marketing, etc.).
• Guide the design effort in creating prototype and production drawings.
• Oversee setting, implementing, and maintaining work schedules to ensure project completion. 
• Observe work and performance of machine builders and design engineers. Help resolve any obstacles or issues. 
• Recommend or implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality and efficiency. 
• Provide technical support by providing information and answers to other engineers, departments, and customers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in design engineering or related field.
• 5+ years supervisory or leadership experience. 
• 7+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lead teams, effectively communicate priorities and drive projects forward. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
