Daily Workflow:
» Perform vehicle inspections, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair on light to medium automobiles, trucks, public safety vehicles and off-road power equipment
» Maintains accurate fleet repair and maintenance records as well as creating and closes work orders
» May requisition parts, equipment, tools, and obtain price quotes
» Safely operates a motor vehicle and commercial vehicles upon city roadways to troubleshoot and diagnose issues to ensure they are resolved
» Other related duties as assigned
We’re Seeking:
» 5+ years of automotive and/or medium and heavy truck mechanic experience
» Knowledge of automotive, heavy truck and heavy equipment mechanic principles and practices
» Ability to use diagnostic tools, A.C. recovery machine, air tools, hand tools, welder, plasma cutter, vehicle hoist, & battery load tester
» Communication and interpersonal skills to interact and exchange information with others and take direction
» Ability to exert up to 50lbs of force frequently and 100lbs of force occasionally
» Ability to use computers and related software programs
» High School Diploma or equivalent is required
» Must have a valid Oregon Driver’s License (class C or higher) and be able to pass a DMV records check
» Must pass a background check
» Must pass a drug test
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
» Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification (IMACA, MVAC or equivalent), must possess or have ability to obtain
» ASE Master Automotive Technician and/or Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician (preferred)
» EVT Fire Apparatus Technician Lvl 1 Certificate (preferred)
» EVT Law Enforcement Vehicle Technician Certification (preferred)
» Oregon Driver’s License – Class B w/ airbrake endorsement (preferred)
Schedule:
» Full Time schedule, July until early October
» Specific Hours TBD
