Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Night Shift Converting Supervisor to oversee our paper converting operations at our Van Nuys, CA facility. This role is vital in ensuring the productivity, compliance, and safety of the night shift team. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, a background in manufacturing, and the ability to coordinate operations in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise all converting line operations during the night shift.
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company regulations.
Monitor and enforce proper timekeeping practices to prevent timecard fraud and time abuse.
Guarantee that team members receive appropriate breaks, including a meal before the fifth hour, two 10-minute breaks, and a 30-minute lunch.
Act as the first point of contact in case of emergencies and respond accordingly.
Collaborate with the Director of Manufacturing to ensure appropriate raw materials are used efficiently and effectively.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support equipment maintenance when needed.
Promote and enforce a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
Qualifications:
Mechanically inclined with the ability to understand and troubleshoot industrial equipment.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment highly recommended.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing a team effectively.
