Paint Prep / Parts Masking Technician

MINIMUM 6 MONTHS OF RECENT PARTS MASKING EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT.

Connect Staffing, Inc. is seeking an experienced Masker candidate for a parts masking, racking, and packing position at a powder coating facility in the city of Brea, CA.

Schedule: 5:30 am- 2pm Monday through Friday. Must be flexible for Overtime.

Requirements of a Paint / Prep Parts Masking Technician:

• Minimum 6 months of recent parts masking experience.
• Must have experience with X-acto knife and masking parts 
• Must speak Spanish or be Bilingual 
• Must pass E-Verify
• Prior experience in roles such as Masker, Masking Technician, Industrial Masker, Paint Prep Technician, Powder Coat Prep Technician, Surface Preparation Technician, Coating Preparation Specialist, Masking and Painting Technician, Finishing Prep Technician, Masking Operator, Pre-Paint Preparation Technician, Masking and Coating Specialist a big plus!

Responsibilities of a Paint Prep / Parts Masking Technician:

• Mask metal parts per specifications to prepare for the powder coating process.
• Clean and inspect parts for cleanliness and quality before masking. This may involve wiping them down to remove dust, dirt, or grease.
• Accurately apply masking materials, such as heat-resistant tape, plugs, and caps, to protect threaded holes, bolts, studs, gaskets, or other surfaces that should not be coated. 
• Properly rack and position parts prior to powder coating to ensure complete coverage and prevent damage or coating defects
• Inspect the parts after the coating and curing process to ensure the masking was effective and the final product meets quality standards. This includes checking for clean edges and any defects.
• Pack finished parts securely using appropriate materials to prevent damage during storage or shipment.
• Clean and sweep the work area as needed.
• Assist with unloading and organizing parts as needed.
