Forklift Operator / Container Loader

MINIMUM ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE LOADING IBC CONTAINERS + HAZMAT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Connect Staffing is looking for a dedicated Forklift Operator to join a leading chemical distributor in the North Houston area!

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Forklift Operator Requirements:

• Must have at least one year of forklift experience.
• Must have at least one year of chemical handling experience and be Hazmat certified.
• Prior experience loading IBC containers (Intermediate Bulk Containers)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to pass a background and drug screen.
• Prior experience in roles such as a Container Loader, Freight Handler, Warehouse Associate, Forklift Operator, Production Worker, Logistics Coordinator, Inventory Specialist, Chemical Handler, Material Handler is a big plus!

Forklift Operator Responsibilities:

• Efficiently and safely operate a forklift to load and unload IBC containers and drums from trucks, trailers, or containers. 
• Ensure proper loading/unloading of IBC containers into/out of storage areas, trucks, or shipping containers while maintaining safety and organization. 
• Check IBC containers and drums for damages or defects before and after handling, ensuring they are in good condition for transport or storage.
• Properly stack IBC containers to maximize space and stability, securing them to prevent shifting during transportation. 
• Track the movement of containers, ensuring correct placement and accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system. 
• Follow all safety protocols, including wearing protective gear and adhering to operational guidelines when using forklifts and handling containers. 
• Work closely with other warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to ensure efficient loading and unloading processes.
