Pay Rate: $28.10/hr

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role

Houston Public Works is hiring a Senior Plan Analyst to review water and wastewater capacity reservation (WCR) applications, assess impact fees, and ensure compliance with ordinances, state laws, and regulations. This role is ideal for detail-oriented problem solvers who enjoy analyzing documents, reviewing site plans, and supporting customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Review WCR applications and generate letters for impact fee administration
• Assess impact fees using Excel-based tools and maintain accurate records
• Review surveys, legal documents, site plans, and plats
• Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in-person regarding application status
• Collaborate with other departments and assist with reports, SOPs, and special projects
• Utilize GIS/mapping tools and Google Earth for document analysis

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field (e.g., Building Inspection) or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience in building trades, inspection, or plan examining (additional experience may substitute for degree)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe
• Strong customer service, written communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to review plans, maps, and technical documents accurately
