Field Service Technician – Gray Court, SC (Direct Hire)
Hours: 6:00am – 4:30pm (Monday - Thursday); however, may be required to work overtime on Friday
Pay Range: $28 - $35 (Depends on Experience)
MUST have valid driver’s license and clean criminal background
Position Summary:
The purpose of the Field Service Technician is to ensure effective and efficient use of departmental resources to support customer requirements regarding commissioning activities, customer training, and resolution of customer complaints.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Fulfill parts orders to ensure quality and delivery expectations are met.

Respond to customer inquiries regarding the storage, installation, testing, or potential product non-conformance resolution.

Maintain knowledge of product and field practices.

Conduct testing on HV switchgear: Circuit function test, timing test, contact resistance test, insulation resistance test, Dielectric Withstand (Hi-Pot) test, Vacuum Integrity test, Bushing Current Transformer (BCT) test, wire insulation test, and helium leak test.

Perform repair on HV switchgear: Utilizing work instructions to repair equipment accurately and efficiently in the field and in the plant using power and precision tools.

Support customer requests in the field: Traveling to customer sites, perform classroom training and hands-on training to customers. Make repairs in the field and perform testing in the field.

Completes work plan for each assigned task in timely & quality-oriented manner.

Maintains high quality levels by establishing, revising, and enforcing organization standards.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment by demonstrating an understanding of all control points, equipment, and resources, and comply with established policies and procedures.

Resolve customer problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

Proficient in utilizing Microsoft software to document findings, generate reports, and communicate procedures and tasks to customers.
Position Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):

Prefer AAS in Mechatronics or Engineering technology, other combinations of education and experience will be considered

3-5 years’ progressive experience in a manufacturing or field service environment.

Excellent Customer Service Skills

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially EXCEL.

ERP system experience, preferably SAP

Able to effectively communicate up and down the organizational hierarchy.

Able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure.

The ability to travel up to 60% to customer site locations to conduct service work (U.S and Canada).
