Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Domestic Logistics Coordinator to manage and coordinate daily domestic freight operations, including truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), and intermodal shipments. The ideal candidate will ensure on-time delivery, cost-efficient routing, and clear communication between carriers, warehouses, and customers. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Schedule and dispatch shipments across multiple transportation modes, including FTL, LTL, and intermodal.

Coordinate with carriers, warehouses, and customers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.

Track and trace all active shipments, providing real-time updates and quickly resolving delays or disruptions.

Negotiate rates with carriers to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions within budget guidelines.

Prepare and review shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, delivery receipts, and load confirmations.

Communicate proactively with internal departments such as customer service, warehouse, and sales to maintain smooth logistics operations.

Maintain accurate shipment records, carrier agreements, and rate sheets.

Monitor carrier performance and develop relationships with reliable, compliant transportation partners.

Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company procedures.

Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes for efficiency and cost savings.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.

1–3 years of experience in domestic transportation or logistics coordination.

Solid understanding of U.S. DOT regulations and freight classifications.

Experience with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) preferred; familiarity with McLeod, MercuryGate, or similar systems is a plus.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

High attention to detail, especially in documentation and shipment tracking.
Work Environment

Office-based position with standard business hours, Monday through Friday.

Occasional overtime required during peak shipping periods.

Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and quick decision-making.
