Client in Piedmont is in the market for a Senior Accountant
Note, this client will not consider anyone that job hops. They want to see longevity. Also, they will not consider someone that was once a Controller or CFO.
Salary range: $65k to $70k
MUST be able to pass background check and drug test
Summary:
Performs basic to complex accounting activities. Has responsibility for maintenance of general ledger related accounts and software system maintenance. Prepares intercompany transactions, financial reports, and PO’s for plant consumables. Reconciles bank transactions, supports external review, tax preparation and budgeting process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Helps maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
· Prepare and enter daily, pre and post-closing journal entries.
· Prepare government reports such as sales/use tax.
· Reconcile and post daily bank entries to ledger.
· Creates weekly spreadsheet for AR used to report status of customer payments, customer communication and customer delinquency and effort to collect.
· Assist AR in the effort to collect, manage and provide resolution of past due accounts.
· Post and maintain foreign related party transactions including foreign exchange rate entries, invoicing of related party drop shipments and related party invoices to our plant.
· Assist with audit preparations and tax preparations.
· Serves as a support, backup and resource for accounts payable and accounts receivable personnel.
· Plan and organize work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff.
· Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.
· Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and delivery of all regular and ad hoc management reports.
· Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
· Serve as a department back up as needed in various roles.
· Other assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting and minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.
· Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
· Data entry skill along with a knack for numbers.
· Hands on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software.
· Proficiency in English and MS Office.
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
· Ability to effectively present info & respond to questions from co-workers, managers, suppliers & customers.
· Ability to adapt to change, prioritize, manage competing demands, and organize work activities.
· Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
· Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
