Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, measuring, cutting, bending, and assembling sheet metal components to meet quality and safety standards. This role plays a vital part in producing components used in various products and structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and machinery (e.g., press brakes, shears, rollers, plasma cutters)
Operate fabrication machinery and equipment with precision
Assemble fabricated parts using welding, riveting, or bolting methods
Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and tolerances
Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies
Troubleshoot fabrication issues and make necessary adjustments
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in fabrication preferred
2+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or a similar manufacturing role
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
Proficient in using fabrication tools and equipment
Knowledge of various metals and fabrication techniques
Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
Basic math and measurement skills
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
Preferred Skills:
Experience with MIG/TIG welding
Familiarity with CNC brake press or laser cutting machines
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
Forklift certification is a plus
