Position: Industrial Maintenance
Pay Rate/Range: $18-20 Hour DOE
Description:
Under general direction, the Maintenance Technician performs work to support the performance of building, grounds, machine, and tool maintenance to include the primary fields of electrical; heating, ventilation, carpentry, plumbing, machining, mechanical equipment installation, troubleshooting and repair; and repairing cranes, hydraulics, and welding machines.
Job Requirements:
High School or GED equivalent preferred. Candidates interested in company-sponsored GED program will be considered. You will have a respectful approach to working with others and prior experience with:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, to include troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Correctly applies methods, practices, and procedures in preventative maintenance, inspection, repair, and minor construction of buildings and utilities.
- Troubleshoots incoming problems and resolves; communicates with Team Leader or Team Manager that require assistance.
- Uses proper Lock-Out Tag-Out processes and procedures.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Follows direction or instruction and asks questions for clarification as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Basic math skills required including the ability to read a tape measure.
- Prior manufacturing experience required.
- 1 year experience using mig/tig/stick welds and oxyacetylene torches required.
- Drill press machine or related experience required.
- Forklift operation certification preferred.
- Overhead crane experience required.
- Scissor Lift certification preferred.
Physical Requirements (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment and/or motor vehicle use). Lifting raw materials, assemblies, and equipment using lifts, or manually up to 50 lbs. Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure): Requires Steel Toed Boots.
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Shift/Schedule: Monday-Friday 1st Shift 6am-3:30pm plus OT as required on Saturday 1/2 days.
