Responsibilities:
Provide daily oversight and leadership for all phases of the grocery store construction project.
Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors, ensuring they meet project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule, including a critical path method (CPM) schedule.
Monitor and track project costs, identifying and managing cost-saving opportunities.
Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel on the job site.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with project stakeholders, including the owner, architect, engineers, and subcontractors.
Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
Manage and resolve construction issues and unforeseen challenges.
Ensure the project is completed in accordance with all building codes and regulations.
Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily logs, meeting minutes, QA/QC, and progress reports.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Ground-Up Commercial Construction Superintendent.
Proven experience in the successful completion of ground-up grocery store (new) construction projects for major grocers.
Ability to provide project list highly recommended.
Strong understanding of all phases of commercial construction, from sitework to finishes.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Proficient in construction scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project).
Strong understanding of scheduling sequencing, logistics, logic, and durations.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Commitment to safety and a proven ability to maintain a safe work environment.
Valid driver's license.
