Accounts Payable
· Preparation, administration and monitoring of the operating budget; projects revenues from multiple and complex sources
· Attention to detail is critical
· Fiscal reporting
· Accounts payable and receivable
- Verifying and preparing tax payments for various states
· Classifying and coding of receipts and expenditures
· Posting items to the general ledger, including transfer of funds, balancing and reconciliation
· Program data base maintenance and monitoring
· Prepares or reviews budget requests for accuracy and justification of resource allocation and expenditures
· Prepares budget documents including amendments and transfers
· Participates in grant development, performs grant accounting compliance and management
· Submits periodic statements of the financial condition of the agency; provides supporting documentation; performs interpretive and analytical financial reporting and presents findings
· Stays informed of changes in local, state and federal financial policies and procedures; adjusts programs as needed
· Assesses cash receipts and expenditures to ensure receipts are sufficient to meet cash needs
· Maintains files on all contracts; reviews and approves contracts for personnel, professional, facility and equipment services
· Representative at a variety of professional meetings and conferences
· Assists financial and program auditors during the annual audit of the records; follows up on findings to improve financial and recordkeeping systems
· Establishes internal control procedures and conduct internal audits as necessary
· Establishes and maintains files, data bases and data management systems, both electronic and paper for efficient retrieval
· Performs other related duties as required or requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
· Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Accounting/Payroll software (AccuFund preferred).
· Ability to create and use computerized spreadsheets in recording financial data.
· Ability to verify accounting documents, forms & data entry for accuracy and completeness.
· Knowledge and ability to create and process a variety of memos, letters, and reports with minimum assistance.
· Ability to evaluate, interpret and comply with grant guidelines and requirements
· Skilled in public speaking, meeting facilitation, and collaborative conflict resolution
· Ability to evaluate financial systems, formulate and install accounting methods, procedures, forms and records
· Ability to design and prepare accurate and thorough analytical and interpretative financial records, reports and statements
· Ability to conduct long range fiscal planning
