Seeking Custodial/Event Staff for Gull Point Community Center

Pensacola, FL

Pay starts around $13-15/HR - depends on experience

30-35 Hours Weekly

***will include evenings and weekends

***must be able to lift 50lbs

***handyman experience is a plus


Description:


Key responsibilities may include:
  • Pre-event preparation:
    • Thoroughly clean and sanitize all event areas, including floors, restrooms, seating areas, and common spaces. 

    • Set up event furniture and equipment as needed, including tables, chairs, barriers, and signage. 

    • Stock restrooms with necessary supplies. 

    • Inspect event space for potential hazards and report any issues. 

  • During event operations:
    • Regularly monitor event areas for spills, trash, and debris, promptly addressing any issues. 

    • Clean up spills and accidents immediately 

    • Empty trash cans frequently 

    • Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and replenish supplies as needed 

    • Respond to requests from event staff regarding cleaning needs 

  • Post-event cleanup:
    • Dismantle event setups, including furniture and equipment 

    • Thoroughly clean all event spaces, including floors, walls, and surfaces 

    • Properly store cleaning supplies and equipment 

    • Report any damage or maintenance issues to facility management 


Required skills and abilities:
  • Physical stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks 

  • Attention to detail: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned 

  • Flexibility: Adapt to changing event schedules and requirements 

  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other event staff and custodial team members 

  • Safety awareness: Follow proper cleaning procedures and use personal protective equipment when necessary 


Important considerations:
  • Specific event needs: Depending on the venue and event type, additional responsibilities may include carpet cleaning, window washing, specialized cleaning for food areas, or handling hazardous materials. 

  • Shift work: Event custodial staff often work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

  • Cleaning equipment knowledge: Familiarity with various cleaning tools and chemicals is essential.
