Material Cutting Specialist Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Material Cutting Specialist to join our Carolina Covertech Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately cutting a wide variety of fabrics using a straight knife cutting machine. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to meet production deadlines and quality standards. Key Responsibilities • Fabric Cutting: Precisely cut various types of fabrics, according to patterns and specifications. • Measurement Accuracy: Read and interpret tape measures with high accuracy to ensure precise cuts and minimal material waste. • Machine Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a straight knife cutting machine, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed. • Independent Work: Work autonomously to manage cutting tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards. • Quality Control: Inspect fabrics for defects before and after cutting, ensuring all pieces meet design and quality requirements. • Inventory Management: Track and report material usage, assisting with inventory control to ensure adequate stock levels. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area to ensure a safe working environment. • Collaboration: Coordinate with Team Lead to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of projects. Qualifications • Experience: Prior experience in fabric cutting or a related field is preferred but not required; training will be provided for candidates with strong aptitude. • Skills: o Proficient in reading and interpreting measurements using a tape measure. o Ability to operate a straight knife cutting machine or willingness to learn. o Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. o Basic math skills for calculating measurements and material requirements. • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and handle repetitive tasks with precision. • Teamwork: Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment.
