Maintenance Assistant Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal
candidate will support the maintenance department in performing preventive maintenance (PM),
operating various tools and equipment, including spraying equipment, and assisting with daily
operations to ensure smooth facility functionality. This role requires a detail-oriented individual
with technical aptitude and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment to ensure optimal performance and
longevity.
• Read and interpret work orders, routers, and technical drawings to execute tasks
accurately.
• Cut various materials, including fiberglass, PVC, aluminum, and others, using tools such
as band saws, table saws, and drills.
• Operate bending equipment to shape materials as needed.
• Use spraying equipment for coating or finishing applications, ensuring high-quality
results.
• Assist in general maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting and repairs, under the
guidance of senior maintenance staff.
• Use measuring tools, such as tape measures, to ensure precise measurements and cuts.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Proactively identify potential maintenance issues and report them to supervisors.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in maintenance or a
related field is a plus.
• Proven experience using band saws, table saws, drills, and bending equipment.
• Experience operating spraying equipment for coating or finishing tasks is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, routers, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in measuring tools, particularly tape measures, for accurate work.
• Experience cutting materials such as fiberglass, PVC, and aluminum.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform hands-on
tasks.
