Job Summary
The Packaging Line Lead will collaborate with the Packaging Team Lead to foster a work environment built on trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive teamwork. This role involves motivating, inspiring, and leading team members by setting a positive example.
Essential Duties:

Facilitate workflow within the cell and assign teams to optimize efficiency.

Prepare necessary materials (work, labels, wires, packaging supplies) to ensure Team Members are ready at their stations.

Ensure employee compliance with all relevant work instructions and SOPs.

Demonstrate proficiency with the TWI training methodology.
-
Assign daily tasks to packaging employees.
-
Follow production schedules (Wire Pack, Purchase Pack, Solo Pack, BBT Pack, Elastics Pack, and Tie/Chain Pack) and meet daily production targets.

Operate the Solo Pack machine (A Shift only).

Create labels and audit WIP bins for BBT, distribute work for BBT, and manage servo carts for BBT.

Create labels, audit WIP, distribute work, and manage servo carts for elastic/tie/chain and wire packaging.
-
Distribute wire for packaging, assist operators, respond to Andon lights/sound signals, and manage servo carts.

Operate and troubleshoot the Go-Packer 3000 packaging machine.
-
Work overtime as required.

Perform weekly preventative maintenance.

Assist with counting, sorting, and packaging as needed.
-
Maintain area cleanliness and avoid material mix-ups as directed.

Identify and tag HOT & expedite orders.

Schedule, plan, and communicate daily activities with the immediate Supervisor/Team Lead.

Recognize team member accomplishments and exceptional performance.

Audit work instructions and processes for continuous improvement.

Alert Supervisor/Team Lead of any departmental problems or issues, including personnel matters.
Qualifications:

Effective problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Basic computer knowledge preferred (training will be provided).

Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, and present information in English.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math calculations to confirm counts and units of measure.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables in different situations.
Sign-On Bonus:
