We are seeking a reliable, caring, and energetic Early Childhood Educator to support a non-profit, licensed childcare center servicing families with children ages 0-5, and offering after-school care for Kindergarten – 4th grade. This role involves assisting with our summer program and walking to the Elementary school to meet students and bring them back to the facility. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, is highly organized, and has a flexible schedule.

Summer Program Duties:

  • Assist lead teachers with classroom activities, crafts, and outdoor play.
  • Support supervision of children to ensure a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.
  • Help with snack/meal times, rest periods, and cleanup routines.
  • All other job duties as required.

School-Year Duties:

  • Safely walk to the designated nearby school to pick up students and accompany them back to the center.
  • Maintain awareness of safety while walking with children through neighborhoods and crosswalks.
  • Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate after-school activities.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the Program Director.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and center colleagues.
  • All other job duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with young children in a group setting is highly desirable.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories within the past seven (7) years. 
  • Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities. 
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
  • Physically able to walk moderate distances with children in various weather conditions.

Job Type: Summertime: Full-time, Monday – Friday / School-Year: Part-time, Monday – Friday 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm & all corresponding school district holiday breaks/days off
