Position Overview: They will set up, operate, and perform simple programming to one or more machines used in the production of hollow metal doors in workstations that include but are not limited to machines that: bend, notch, punch, form, or strengthen frame parts. Position Description: - Perform and ensure the operation of equipment by following preventative maintenance policies and procedures as assigned by the Leadership Team. - Work in machining areas where tasks & job duties may vary. - Follow & build job orders according to customer specifications on the daily travelers. - May require retrieval of doors, and parts as necessary for the completion of the finished product. - Understand & identify all components that comprise the finished product as described in the SDI handbook. - Report production and quality data as dictated in the daily travelers to the supervisor. - Make required adjustments to correct quality errors. - Always maintain an organized work environment, which may require inspection by the Leadership Team. Position Requirements: - High school diploma or GED equivalent - Previous manufacturing experience is preferred - Basic computer & math skills required, and proven mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills. - May be required to use a forklift - Operate small hand or power tools to modify required door materials - Must be able to lift 75 lbs. repetitively - Must be able to push/pull carts up to 75 lbs. - Stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks, such as: twisting, pushing, pulling & reaching.
