Position Overview:
Oversee and coordinate the work of employees who transport material, supplies, and finished products.
Position Description
-Maintain inventory, including keeping records in an inventory management system, acquiring additional stock as required, and distributing items from stock to fulfill requisitions.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment used to move and transport materials to and from the storage areas of the facility.
- Organize and coordinate activities and staff schedules, ensuring fulfillment goals are met and shipments are timely, accurate, and undamaged.
- Collaborate with managers and other departments to develop and modify materials handling processes and procedures.
- Prepare all required reports and correspondence.
- Identify, document, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary or assigned.
Position Requirement:
- Associate's degree in business or related field or comparable experience required.
- At least three years of manufacturing material management experience in a related area with some supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Participate in reviewing candidates, hiring, and supporting centralized training out of the Plano facility or all materials handlers.
- Provide leadership, communication, and coaching employees; cultivate a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, -accountability, and self-confidence.
- Oversee the daily workflow and scheduling of the Materials Handling department.
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Work with HR on discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
