Position Overview:
- Build and repair tools for punch and brake presses in a short-to-medium-run job shop in the metal stamping and fabrication industry.
Position Description:
- Makes simple to complex forming, semi-permanent, and/or progressive dies.
- Performs simple to complex layout work and jig boring.
- May perform or aid in set-up activities to make quality parts.
- Actively promotes and maintains a safe work environment.
- Complies with all Company policies.
- Notifies supervisor or lead person of problems, concerns or questions.
- Keeps work area clean and free of hazards.
- Follows special job instructions as communicated by supervisor or lead person and as on job cards.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma/equivalent; prefer completion of related technical school courses.
- Strong working knowledge of shop math including trigonometry.
- Must be capable of building/repairing tools from the part’s blueprint or minimum work instruction.
- Must be able to read and interpret parts’ blueprints.
- Ability to read and understand English as required for interpreting job cards and prints.
- Desire 5 years minimum experience making stage tooling; 1-2 minimum experience making progressing dies.
- Press room/stamping press experience is strongly preferred. willing/able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Schedule & Pay Rate:
- (1st shift) Mon - Fri | 7:30am - 4:30pm
