Job Duties include but not limited to:
Operate Vacuum Trucks: Drive trucks with powerful vacuum systems to collect liquids, sludges, and debris from sites like sewers, catch basins, and industrial areas.
Perform Manual Labor: Connect and disconnect hoses and pipes, and assist crews with various tasks at job sites.
Monitor Equipment: Oversee vacuum levels and adjust as needed to maintain efficiency and prevent damage to the equipment.
Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs on the vacuum truck and its systems.
Ensure Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company policies, health, and safety practices, including those related to handling hazardous materials and working in confined spaces.
Transport Waste: Safely transport collected materials to designated disposal or recycling locations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Valid Class A CDL: A Commercial Driver's License, Class A, is essential.
Tanker Endorsement: Often a preferred or required credential for handling liquids and waste.
Mechanical Aptitude: A good understanding of heavy equipment and hydraulic machinery is beneficial.
Experience: Previous commercial driving experience, especially with a vacuum truck, is typically required.
Physical Fitness: The ability to perform rigorous outdoor duties, including manual labor, and lift/push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
Safety Certifications: Familiarity with or certifications such as HAZWOPER or general OSHA standards are highly valued.
