BACKHOE

*Must have a valid driver license*

- Must have at least two years experience running a backhoe, and must be proficient in both trenching and grading

Responsibilities include but not limited too:

Performing daily equipment checks and maintenance, adhering to all safety protocols, reading blueprints, collaborating with a construction team, and ensuring efficient project execution. The role requires physical stamina, good coordination, and a thorough understanding of equipment operation and safety procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation:Safely and efficiently operate a backhoe to excavate, trench, move materials, and grade land according to project plans.

• Equipment Maintenance:Conduct pre-operational checks and perform routine maintenance on the backhoe to ensure it's in good working order, and report any major issues.

• Project Execution:Read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications to understand project requirements.

• Team Collaboration:Work with site supervisors, engineers, and other construction workers, using hand signals and other communication methods to coordinate activities and ensure project timelines are met.

• Safety Compliance:Strictly follow all safety regulations, protocols, and company policies, participating in safety training and reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents.

Essential Skills and Abilities

• Operating Skills:Proficiently control and maneuver a backhoe for complex digging and grading tasks.

• Technical Knowledge:Understand construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to guide operations.

• Safety Awareness:A strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations is critical.

• Physical Strength and Endurance:Must be able to lift, push, pull, and perform other physical tasks, as well as withstand long periods of sitting or being on their feet.

• Coordination:Requires good hand-to-eye coordination and the ability to use hands, arms, and legs repeatedly.

Work Environment

• Location:Primarily works on outdoor construction sites, which can include road construction, building sites, and areas for utility installation.

• Conditions:May be exposed to various weather conditions and must be able to work in confined areas, on uneven or sloped ground.
