Role & Responsibility:
Backhoe operator reports directly to PIC on site, Working supervisor and Field supervisor. Backhoe operators are responsible for operating a backhoe, digging trenches, backfilling trenches, and building ramp overs. Operators must inspect equipment daily for any safety hazard.
Task include but not limited to:

Cleaning up and maintaining backhoes and other equipment, as well as making basic repair as necessary

Reporting malfunctioning equipment or components with defects to supervisors

Dig trenches utilize proper sloping and shoring.

Backfill and clean location where excavation work has been performed

Strictly adhering to safety regulations and ensuring potential hazards are minimized

Following site grading and operations plans

Assisting with the loading and unloading of heavy equipment from trucks and tractors

Working collaboratively with other construction workers and maintaining healthy relationships with them.
Training / Validation Requirements that shall be completed while a Backhoe Operator:

Competent excavation person training.

Able to identify buried pipelines and underground utilities that may not be properly marked

Fill out proper paperwork

Able to communicate with spotter

Good time management
-
Shows good people skills, must be able to speak to customers and fellow co-workers to give directions on digs when needed.

Understands OSHA regulations and safety policies

Understand and know how to equipment operate
