Job Qualifications: Full Time with possible overtime

OSHA Certificate required.

Shift: 2nd

 

Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.

Satisfactorily passed in-company forklift driver training program or demonstrates in a “road test” safe handling of a forklift truck based on training and experience elsewhere.

Must be able to work rotating shifts

Good basic math, language, and reading skills (English is a Plus).

Must be dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

 

Abilities Required:

To add product into Bins must be able to lift and push 35 lb.

Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to operate fork lift safely.

Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.

High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others.

Positive attitude; team player.

 

Responsibilities:

Operate industrial forklift truck to perform material handling assignments. Identify and transport material to and from storage areas and machines. Performs all these activities in compliance with company’s personnel safety, food safety and food quality systems as well as 5s methodology.

 

Equipment and Work Tools:

Industrial Fork Lift truck, Safety shoes, and any other tool the required for the performance of their work.

 

(Other Responsibilities):

Complies and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

Complies and enforces security norms and food quality.

Adequately carries out all activities related to security and quality of the finished product.

Becomes personally accountable for the highest quality and integrity standards of behavior, honesty and fairness in all aspects of the job.

 

Production:

Supplies product to all machines according to work order specification. Prior to signing out equipment performs operations and safety checks, including battery, brakes, lift controls, and fire extinguisher. Fills check list accordingly.

Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull, load, and move merchandise, checking locator cards and all documents specific to each type of merchandise.

At each day’s end, returns equipment to correct charging station, and prepares equipment for daily (overnight) charge.

Replaces defective pallets as necessary.

Timely Responds to red light signal indicating an empty bin needs to be replaced with one with product in order to keep line running (i.e. Rovema, 603, etc.).

The Fork Lift Operator must be able to recognize all the different types of products and their respective storage areas.

Reviews production orders and determines that correct materials are available at packaging line during start up and changeovers.

 

General Functions:

Communicates regularly with machine operators, supervisor and warehouse personnel to ensure good two way communication regarding work order set up and changeovers.

Notifies machine operator and supervisor of quality issues or lack of product.
