Job Title SR Accountant
Reports to: Controller
Pay: $80k-$90k
Summary
The Senior Accountant is a key financial professional responsible for performing complex accounting functions within a manufacturing aerospace environment. This role provides accounting leadership, ensures the accuracy of financial reporting, supports cost accounting and production-related financial processes, and collaborates with Executive Leadership on financial strategies. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with aerospace industry standards, internal controls, and government regulations.
Primary Duties
- Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely financial records in accordance with GAAP and applicable aerospace/manufacturing standards.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Support manufacturing cost accounting, including inventory valuation, variance analysis
- Support inventory management within ERP system and assist operations regarding questions regarding inventory transactions
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.
- Perform account reconciliation for balance sheet accounts within MST
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws; prepare and file necessary tax returns.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, participating in periodic audits and supporting compliance with aerospace industry requirements (e.g., AS9100 financial process controls).
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to provide financial insights that support production planning and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of spreadsheet and database tools for financial analysis.
- Ability to prepare, interpret, and present complex financial information to Executive Leadership.
Minimum Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years or progressive accounting experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally in aerospace or another highly regulated industry.
