Job Summary
Provides direct patient care by administering appropriate treatments, completing timely documentation, and educating patients and families.
**Job Responsibilities**
* Administer appropriate patient treatments and adjust as needed.
* Assist the supervising PT in modifying and updating functional goals.
* Maintain a caseload that meets productivity standards.
* Complete accurate, same-day documentation and patient charges.
* Ensure charges reflect time spent, procedures performed, and equipment issued.
* Maintain clinical skills through continuing education and in-service participation.
* Educate patients and families on treatment plans, home exercises, and equipment use.
* Follow established care pathways and operational guidelines.
* Schedule and prioritize daily assignments.
* Delegate appropriate tasks to support personnel.
* Assist with volunteers and PTA students when requested.
* Use time and resources efficiently.
* Exercise independent judgment within established policies.
* Collaborate with patients, families, internal staff, external partners, and other healthcare professionals.
**Required Skills & Experience**
* 0–6 months of related experience.
* Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
* Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
* Effective time-management abilities.
**Required Education**
* Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
**Required Certification & Licensure**
* Valid State Physical Therapist Assistant license.
