Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Procedure Pain Management Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, assisting physicians during pain management procedures, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced medical environment.

Preparation and Setup:

  • Assist in preparing the procedure room, ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and medications are available and properly organized.
  • Sterilize and arrange instruments according to established protocols.
  • Verify patient identification, medical history, and consent forms prior to the procedure.

Patient Interaction:

  • Greet and reassure patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have about the procedure.
  • Assist patients in positioning for the procedure, providing comfort and support throughout the process.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and well-being before, during, and after the procedure.

Assistance During Procedures:

  • Assist the physician in various pain management procedures, such as injections, nerve blocks, and minimally invasive interventions.
  • Hand instruments and supplies to the physician during the procedure.
  • Maintain a sterile field and ensure infection control protocols are followed at all times.

Post-Procedure Care:

  • Assist in transferring patients to a recovery area post-procedure and monitor their recovery progress.
  • Provide post-procedure instructions and address any questions or concerns patients may have.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified medical assisting program preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • Prior experience in a procedural or pain management setting is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and pain management procedures.
