Super clean West Tulsa manufacturer that designs, manufactures, and assembles downhole equipment for domestic and international markets is seeking CNC lathe and mill machinist.

 

Summary Duties

 

  • Perform setups on CNC lathes or mills, includes selecting optimal standard or nonstandard tooling, required fixtures, chuck/jaws, and any machine attachments. Download program, make any offsets required, set tooling per the program and verify material matches program. Make sure all required gauges are available

  • Operate one or more machines, running complex parts, with close tolerances, possibly with seal surfaces requiring special finishes, special threads, or extra long parts that require special settings.

  • Meet production output goals, insure quality of all machined parts, maintain production records, quality records, data logs, etc.

  • Read blueprints, routers, work orders, check program, and inspection directions to determine job specifications and tolerances. Verify conformance of parts produced to specifications using precision inspection equipment, and record results.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Frequently handles and lifts material ranging from 5 to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds, and infrequently up to 75 pounds.

  • Thorough understanding of programs, ability to make offsets, or edits required. Should have sufficient knowledge to make program changes to accommodate material substitutions or new parts that are close to other program parameters

  • Basic shop math for determining part sizes, locations of part characteristics, tolerance limits, counting parts, calculating speeds and feeds, using ratios, or percentages, etc.

  • Ability to read and understand complex blueprints.

  • Ability to understand written or oral instructions, safety rules, company policies, etc.

  • Ability to accurately use common inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, dial or digital indicators, etc.

  • Must have tool box with basic tools, which includes wrenches, 6” scale, 0-12” calipers, and 0-6” micrometers, screwdrivers, hammers, crescent wrench, pliers, etc., and be willing to add other tools that are not on this list to accomplish assigned jobs.
