Government/Commercial Insurance Follow-Up | Tulsa, OK
Monday - Friday (OT is mandatory at times)
Government Insurance Follow-Up Requirements:
Must have experience billing Medicare, Medicaid, and Hospice; follow-up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle time frame; work directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed and paid; review and appeal unpaid and denied claims; identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances; handle collections on unpaid accounts with production standards; must have advanced Excel experience; requires the ability to problem solve and take on multiple tasks; participate in weekly team meetings. Work an average of 80 claims per day. Complete other duties as assigned.
Commercial Insurance Follow-Up Requirements:
Research and review insurance denials from reports or documents from insurance companies; verify insurance coverage and benefits; complete and submit reconsideration requests or appeals to insurance companies; place outgoing calls to insurance companies to inquire on claim status; correct and resubmit corrected claims with supporting documentation as appropriate; work with other department teams to resolve outstanding/unpaid accounts, track work/production daily; participate in weekly team meetings. Work an average of 80 claims per day. Complete other duties as assigned.
Government/Commercial Insurance Follow-up Skills Knowledge and Skills
Ability to utilize a ten key by touch. Typing 30 wpm. Data Entry 6000 kph.
Basic computer knowledge and skills.
Good communication skills - written and verbal.
Good grammar skills.
Basic understanding of a professional business environment.
Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes.
