Accounting Manager



The Plus Group is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager to provide day-to-day oversight for a Northern California community health center. This highly regarded health center is known for its commitment, compassion, and providing excellent healthcare services.

The Accounting Manager’s responsibilities include: prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee, direct and evaluate accounts payable, purchasing, payroll and staff accountants.

  • Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.

  • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.

  • Maintain or examine the records of government agencies.

  • Advise in areas such as compensation, employee health care benefits, the design of accounting or data processing systems.

  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.

  • Function as support for the CFO including regulatory reporting and audits.

  • Ensure that assigned departmental functions comply with applicable federal, state and local laws and ordinances, researching as necessary

Qualifications and Skills

  • Five years experience in Finance or Accounting including administrative or supervisory experience. Non-profit experience preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Business/Administration courses helpful.

  • Knowledge of: the principles, practices and procedures of management and administration, including goal setting, program development, implementation and evaluation, and employee supervision.

  • Preparing and directing the preparation of clear and concise staff reports, policies, procedures, correspondence and other written materials.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
