The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a manufacturing plant, including production, quality control, safety, maintenance, and personnel, ensuring efficient operations, meeting production targets, and maintaining compliance with industry standards while leading a team of department heads and staff, all while strategizing for continuous improvement and cost optimization; key duties include setting production goals, managing budgets, implementing quality control measures, coordinating with supply chain, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production runs smoothly and meets established timelines and quality standards.
- Develop and execute production plans, manage inventory levels, and optimize production schedules to meet customer demands.
- Implement and maintain robust quality control systems to ensure product quality and minimize defects.
- Monitor and manage production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource utilization.
- Lead and develop a team of department heads including maintenance, engineering, quality assurance, and production supervisors.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures, promoting a culture of safety within the plant.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, and reduce waste.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable industry regulations and standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, production techniques, and quality control methodologies. Preferably in the stamping industry
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, build consensus, and create a positive work environment.
- Capability to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve long-term business objectives.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions.
- Understanding of financial statements and budgeting principles to manage costs effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders including senior management, employees, and external vendors.
