JOB DESCRIPTION:
In this role, you will oversee and supervise our nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to individuals with developmental disabilities. Your responsibilities will also include developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures that align with OPWDD regulations and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate integrated healthcare services. Additionally, you'll conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback to support staff development, and assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new nursing team members. Your guidance, mentorship, and ongoing training will help enhance the skills and knowledge of our nursing staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and supervise nursing staff to provide top-notch care to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols in line with OPWDD regulations and best practices.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and integrate healthcare services.

Provide performance evaluations, feedback, and identify areas for staff development.

Assist in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new nursing staff members.

Offer guidance, mentorship, and continuous training to enhance the skills of the nursing team.

Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations and quality improvement initiatives.

Act as a resource and liaison between nursing staff, individuals, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and care planning sessions.

Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in OPWDD and nursing through continuous professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.

Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience working with OPWDD as a Registered Nurse.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of OPWDD regulations, policies, and procedures.

Showcase excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in computer skills and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Previous supervisory experience is required.
