Job description
TalentEdge has started our recruiting efforts for several Prep Cooks at a local college
A prep cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and performing basic cooking tasks in support of the kitchen staff. The job duties of a prep cook include:

Preparing food ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, fruits, and meats.

Measuring and mixing ingredients to the recipe's specifications.

Ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and of good quality.

Assisting with the preparation of dishes such as salads, soups, and sauces.

Completing simple tasks, such as peeling potatoes, seeding peppers or washing lettuce.

Operating kitchen equipment, such as food processors, grinders, and blenders.

Maintaining cleanliness of prep areas and tools.

Organizing ingredients to facilitate cooking processes.

Storing food items after they have been prepped in accordance with food safety regulations.

Assisting the chefs with any other tasks as needed.
Requirements:

Needs to be able to follow direction, communicate effectively, and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

Have knowledge of basic cooking techniques, a strong work ethic, and a passion for cooking

Must be at least 18 years old

Must be available to work weekends
