ASME Certified Pressure Vessel Welder
General responsibilities would be but not limited to:
1. Pass a math test, able to read a tape measure, and be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
2. Work is assigned by Job Task Supervisors as they direct and guide a Welder from one Job Task assembly to another throughout the workday.
3. Work involves assembling product by also utilizing various welding techniques dependent on welding skill levels of tig, mig, seam weld, and flux core welding.
4. Work would involve but not limited to groove & fillet welding of light angle, channel, flat stock, carbon & stainless steel sheet from 18 ga. to 1/4” thick, and pipe & tube with sizes ranging from 1” to 10” pipe (primarily 4” pipe).
5. Specific type of work involves material prepping, tacking, and then final welds to various parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
6. Various Job Tasks can evolve into blending a Welder’s welding skills into a more specific trained qualified ASME certified pressure vessel welder.
7. Depending on skill level a Welder could also involve operating a shear, press brake, finned tube bender, various welding machines, angle iron punch, CNC punch, etc.
a. Following probation, Supervisors may offer training for operating various machines.
Responsible for the basic maintenance and care of equipment and tools.
Assist in other areas of production as needed if qualified.
Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedure.
Perform related work and other duties as required by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Be able to use measuring devices such as tape measure, calipers, and micrometers.
Follow instructions and read SP’s.
Interacts well with others.
Blueprint, assembly and schematic reading.
Communication in English both written and oral is essential.
Ability to pass a pre-employment written math test and hands weld test, physical, drug/alcohol and background test.
Minimum Qualifications for Application:
High School diploma or GED with 2 years related experience, or completion of technical college welding course.
ASME Certified Pressure Vessel Welder
Preferred Qualifications:
2-year Welding degree and 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
ASME Certified
Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
$25-$28/Hour based on experience, $800/week per diem
