CDL - Vac-truck driver

We are in immediate need of motivated CDL Drivers with a tanker endorsement to operate industrial vacuum trucks supporting clients around Northwest Indiana. As our CDL Driver, you are responsible for transporting goods from one location to another. Job duties include loading their vehicles, managing in-transit loads, abiding by traffic laws, and ensuring safe unloading and delivery at their destination

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive the truck to and from the loading station to the customers' location(s), disposal site(s), and back to the office location.

• Driver must load and unload various fluids by using hoses connected to the truck.

• The driver must monitor fluids required for the job based on customers' needs and other requirements.

• Responsible for knowledge of DOT rules and regulations and all job-related company, state, and federal requirements.

• Maintain accurate work tickets based on the company's work requirements and the work performed for the customer.

• Maintain accurate driving log books and pre-trip/post-trip inspections.

• Understand basic maintenance concepts to perform light to moderate repairs as necessary.

• Responsible for maintaining and tracking their DOT regulated hours.

• Maintain cabs and exterior. Keep them clean and well maintained.

• Responsible for Pre-Trip and Post-Trip and report any maintenance or repairs necessary.

• Responsible for answering company-issued cell phones during on-call hours, in accordance with company and safety policies.

• Any other duty, responsibility, or task as assigned by the supervisor.

• Drive CDL straight truck local - no overnights

• Adhere to company rules and regulations

• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions

• Comply with DOT regulations

• Make safety a priority at all times

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required

• 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred

• Clean driving record with no moving violations

• Must pass a background check and drug test

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time

• Comfortable with medium-haul transport

• Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.

• Proficient using GPS and other routing systems

• Map reading and route planning experience

• Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful

• High level of composure and good stress management
