Job Summary
Efficient operations of silo to ensure quality product within specification ranges, meeting production standards and cost to produce standards. Efficiently operate equipment to produce products in conformance with all Washington Potato Company safety, quality, and cost standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
Essential
• Follow Food Safety, Quality, Personal Safety, and any other Washington Potato Company’s Polices.
• Operate equipment to optimum efficiencies to meet quality, cost and operational requirements of daily schedules. This includes managing filling railcars, switch sections of railcar and switch over to a new railcar. Change filters in the bag house as needed.
• Participate in the training of personnel and attend monthly safety meetings.
• Minimize waste and maximize production efficiencies within these areas.
• Ensure all products are produced to Washington Potato Company quality standards.
• Participate in cleaning around the silo and train tracks as needed/directed.
• Knowledge of equipment operation, ability to operate efficiently to meet standards. Be able to trouble shoot the problems and reset breakers.
• Notify management of any production, safety, quality or environmental concerns with equipment, operation or facility.
• Be flexible in shift and overtime availability.
• Work with all other departments to ensure good communication and teamwork.
• Track and maintain records of equipment operations in log book and production reporting. This information needs to be accurate and timely and includes daily silo readings, water readings and waste water reports.
• Follow production policies and procedures. Which includes wearing fall protection when up on railcar.
• If everything is completed in the area and everything is running like it should, the silo operator will help out in the compactor are and break down totes.
• Maintain good personal hygiene, follow GMP’s and maintain a clean, safe and sanitary workplace. Immediately report any situation that may cause product to be contaminated or compromised.
• Comply with plant security by ensuring that doors are locked and closed behind you. Report any suspicious activities to your Supervisor immediately.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Candidate must be willing to work Saturdays and Sundays. Currently plant production is working 7 days per week. This schedule is full time, two days a week will be scheduled for days off. Personnel with seniority will have first option for weekends off.
• Candidate must be quick learner, patient with oneself and others, demonstrate high degree of dependability, and a good communicator.
• Candidate must be able to read paperwork and write neatly.
$16.80 for training, then $17.40 for relief
