POSITION: Tote Builder / filler JOB SUMMARY: To construct totes and ensure that product going through the Alvey augers is properly packaged for storage and shipment to customers. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary, by the Packaging Equipment Operator, Packaging Supervisor and/or Management DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensure that all totes being used for product storage and shipment are in good condition and properly built • Construct totes per diagram posted in the Packaging Room • Ensure that totes being used are meeting customer specifications • Ensure that all pallets being used are in good condition and per customer specification • Ensure that all packaging materials for the customer specification are used as required (ex. Liners, slip sheets, ti sheets, etc.) • Operate the Alvey system as directed by the Packaging Supervisor • Use the proper fill weights as instructed by QA and/or the Packaging Supervisor • Operate the Alvey systems in automatic unless instructed otherwise by the Packaging Supervisor or Management • Report any equipment problems immediately to the Packaging Supervisor and/or Maintenance Mechanic • Remove full product totes from the filling line promptly, close, seal, tape per customer specification and move to the designated pick up area for movement to cold storage • Notify the Packaging Supervisor if packaging supplies are needed • Keep area clean, orderly and dispose of waste properly • Follow all Safety, Hygienic, Company policies and procedures PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Basic requirements found on reverse side) • No additional requirements specified REASONING ABILITY: (Basic requirements found on reverse side) • No additional requirements specified LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: (Basic requirements found on reverse side) • No additional requirements specified OTHER: Must be willing to work all shifts and extended hours if necessary.
