Employee will need to have a valid drivers license and auto insurance to travel between locations. At most it would be 50 miles one way, they will pay mileage. Employee will need to call in between 5:00AM-7:00AM to the office to get their schedule for the day (they will be called if they don't call in). They will be told who and where to report to.
All training will be done in-house, it is not necessary for employees to be knowledgeable about the position going in. Their first day will be be paid training at their Toledo office (same as billing address), will be 1.5-2 hrs. paid. Afterwards they will primarily be at client locations in BG as that is where most of the company veterans are, employees will work with a veteran at first to learn the job. Each candidate will need to fill out an Interim Info Sheet as well as complete the Basic Skills Test. These will need to be sent to both Shannon Sacca-Putin and Tom Styers for approval.
Summary: Inspectors provide a service for customers by confirming that parts meet requirements for quality or safety before they are used. Typical projects include unpacking of parts, visual inspection, repacking, and recording important information about your daily inspections. Inspectors generally work in teams at a customers facility and can impact customer satisfaction on a daily basis. Job is sorting and inspecting automotive parts. They will be looking for defects, throwing out the bad parts. Benchmark is a third party sorting and inspection service, they go where their customers needs are (~80% are automotive companies). That means traveling between locations to cover sorts at our customer requests. Candidates may be at one customer location for a period of time, but when the sort is completed, they will be moved to another customer location to sort. All candidates will get mileage if the customer location is 41 or more miles round trip from their home to the sort location. .50 is paid per mile.
Essential Duties: Maintain a professional and positive attitude, maintain a good working relationship with customer contacts and team members, follow all Benchmark and customer specific rules and policies, perform inspection, rework, measurement, or other activities per instructions, document all required information and time worked accurately, keep work area clean and organized.
Must Have's: Desire to work as a team member and strive for customer satisfaction, comfortable prioritizing tasks, making decisions, and following instructions, good communication skills, with the ability to read and write in English, ability to perform basic math, can stand for 8 to 12-hour shifts, can perform repeated bending and lifting. (Up to 40 lbs.), comfortable in a factory environment. (Hot and cold temperatures, noise level, etc.), able to see small defects: 20/40 vision with or without corrective lenses, reliable transportation to and from work, steel-toed shoes or boots, access to a working phone number with voicemail.
Nice to Have's: Previous work in manufacturing or quality, coaching or leadership experience, ability to work overtime, including weekends.
