Procurement & Inventory Manager - Direct Hire - South Bend, IN
1st shift, $75-100,000/yr
Job Duties:
Supplier Management Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers both domestically and internationally. Conduct thorough assessment to ensure suppliers meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration to ensure a reliable supply chain. Address any issues or concerns promptly to maintain positive partnerships.
- Monitor Suppliers quality and delivery performance and have quarterly business reviews.
- Identify and mitigate risk associated with domestic and international suppliers and develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
- Ensure that all supplier activities comply with relevant laws, regulations and company policies.
- Analyze and manage costs associated with domestic and international suppliers. Implement strategies to optimize procurement cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
- Communicate and coordinate communication between suppliers and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of supplier’s activities into operations.
Demand Planning for Direct Materials
- Utilize our Business Central ERP System to determine quantity and timing of direct materials needed for production. Ensure alignment with production schedules and customer demand.
- Integrate demand forecasts with material planning to ensure accurate and timely procurement of direct materials. Adjust plans based on changes to demand and production requirements.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of direct materials to support uninterrupted production. Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and reduce carrying cost.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of direct materials. Communicate material requirements and forecast demand to suppliers to facilitate efficient supply chain operations.
- Monitor and manage lead times for direct materials to ensure they align with production schedules. Implement strategies with suppliers to reduce lead times and improve supply chain responsiveness.
- Collaborate with our third-party manufacturing team to align material planning with production schedules to ensure materials are available when needed to support production.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning.
- Oversee inventory cycle counts to ensure system accuracy of raw materials and finished goods.
- Oversee the processing of daily inventory receipts and inventory transactions.
Requirements:
• Experience requirements: a minimum of 5 years’ Procurement and 5 years’ Inventory Management.
• Education requirements: 4-year BS degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or Engineering.
• Proficient in ERP system Business Central 365 a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Demand Planning, SharePoint.
• Must have strong work ethics, be well organized and a self-starter.
• Detail oriented, professional attitude – the ability work through highly detailed processes with reliability & accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving skills, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
• True team player – work together with members of administration team to complete tasks outside normal responsibilities.
