Compounder – Elkhart, IN

1st Shift 7:00am- 3:00pm Monday-Friday $16/hr.

2nd 3:00pm -11:00pm Monday-Friday $16/hr.

3rd Shift 11:00pm-7:00am Sunday-Thursday $16/hr.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the verification of raw materials
  • Mix compounds
  • Accurate completion of batch sheets
  • Batching chemicals using equipment that includes open blenders and mixers.
  • Destage raw materials and left over batch
  • General housekeeping of compounding and chemical staging areas
  • Train of new compounding personnel
  • Receive and unload bulk raw materials, liquid and propellants
  • Investigate and reset MSA alarm trips
  • Offer suggestions to improve SOP, batching instructions, cleaning procedures,
  • inventory control and accounting
  • Read and understand production schedule, advise of any potential or conflicting problems
  • Recharge DI water systems and know operational functions
  • Know operational functions of RO system
  • Determine tank utilization based on production schedule demands
  • Submit maintenance work orders and supply requisitions
  • Ability to work in chemical warehouse: stage, de-stage, receive materials, and inventory
  • Follow all cGMP’s SOP’s, policies and procedures
  • Supports the effectiveness and timeliness of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Provides a "Customer Service" attitude that has a high focus on sense of urgency when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production and achieving quality standards.
  • Maintains all action register items and consistently meets deadlines with expected results

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass Compounders exam
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Customer focused; Must be flexible in dealing with others in the organization, and with work assignments/projects
  • Must be capable to work independently on occasion in a separate space in the compounding suite.
  • Physically able to stand for an eight (8) hour shift and additional overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work 5, 6 days a week.
  • Physically able to walk, bend, crouch and climb stairs.
  • Capable to work in a compounding suite that includes multiple rooms and 2nd story mezzanines to accommodate large vats and open containers.
  • Physically capable to operate fork lift in a safe manner.
  • Physically able to manipulate bags, drums, buckets and hoses to add materials to open mixing vats.
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds with minimal assistance; 50 pound routinely
  • Must be able to lift containers to chest height.
  • Must be capable of both creative thought and deductive reasoning
  • Self-organized
  • Self-motivated; Ability to work independent of supervision
  • Team player; Participation on Plant Continuous Improvement (CI) Process
  • Attendance is essential to job qualification. No unexcused absence is acceptable
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and stoop
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle and feel
  • Specific vision abilities required for various jobs include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
  • Ability to understand and communicate (talk-read-hear) work instructions
