: Class C – Helper/Production Associate

Broad Function and Purpose of Position: 

The Function of a Class “C” Helper is to support our production operations in 3 Key areas; 1) Hoppers, 2) Floors, and 3) Scrap Grinding.  This function is responsible for ensuring each manufacturing Line is consuming the correct material, ensure operations receive assistance during the line start-up process, and ensure finished goods are moved correctly and in the right storage location.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Maintain hopper area and verifies extruders are loading proper materials per work orders.
• Grind reclaim produced from production start-ups and off spec-production.
• Communicate with operators on regrind percent to run and regrind availability. 
• Provides support to operations by relieving for breaks, lunch, and as required to support production.
• Pass OSHA approved fork-lift truck test and can follow all safety precautions for safe fork-lift truck operation. 
• Maintain Plant Housekeeping Standards. 
• Perform duties promptly with attention to detail in a results-oriented manner.
• Efficiently use MII, SAP, and Access to document and record material usage/moments.
• Clean out and flush various grinders and verify material to be ground.
• Neatly and accurately labels ground material for later use and places in proper storage location.
• Clean and organize equipment, extruders, equipment storage area, and warehouse aisles as needed or instructed by lead person or supervisor.

Qualifications/Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Computer skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word
• Able to stand, squat, lift
• Experience in a manufacturing environment helpful
• Experience driving a forklift helpful
