Position Overview: This position is to develop relationships with existing clients while also developing new clients. Our business has predominantly been focused on the Oil & Gas market with a desire to also expand to other markets such as mining, power, microchip processing, distribution centers, food processing, and agribusiness. We need a skilled Business Developer to acquire and manage new client relationships in a seller/doer model. In this role, you will be responsible for developing relationships with our clients, opening dialogue regarding capital projects & longterm nested positions, and working closely with senior management to close deals. Once the deals are closed, consistent follow-up with clients is a critical task that must be maintained. We will rely on you to develop a strategic business development plan.
This position will be evaluated on sales quotas.
Travel throughout the Southwestern United States is required for this position.
Must have experience managing a team of Business Development managers.
Job Duties:
• Know, abide, and participate in client's safety program
• Identify potential clients in the target markets and complete appropriate research on the prospective client's business and equipment needs
• Develop relationships with prospective clients, while maintaining existing client relationships
• Coordinate multiple daily meetings when traveling to different marketplaces.
• Become a subject matter expert on our business products, processes, and operations, and remain up to date on industry news
• Cold call sales, & constant review and tracking of reports in Industrial Info Resources (IIR) is mandatory.
• Maintain a daily process report for contacts and help establish project priorities; input all business contacts and opportunities into Sales
Force Potential Hazards:
• Outside part/most of every working day
• Potential exposure to cold and hot temperatures
• Manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment
• Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors
• Exposure to areas with limited visibility
Essential Requirements:
• Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights) • Potential or Periodic amounts of time for the following:
o Walking on uneven terrain
o Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel
o Use of respirator if position requires
o Driving if required to travel • driving is required, valid driver license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
