Job Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining machinery used in the manufacturing process. This role ensures machines are running efficiently, safely, and within quality standards to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, start, operate, and shut down assigned machines in accordance with production schedules and safety standards.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from standard operation and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and production instructions.
- Inspect finished products for defects to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Record production data such as quantity produced, machine downtime, and quality checks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety protocols.
- Report any equipment issues or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
- Forklift certification (if applicable) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
