Summary: Mechanical repair and machine part fabrication, modify and repair production equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operates but not limited to metal lathes, milling machines, saws, grinders, drills, hydraulic presses, sheet metal bending machines, chop saws, band saw, tube-bending equipment, torch cutting equipment. Uses welding process for mechanical repair of various parts Refurbish equipment from rust or corrosion Modify or fabricate components for proper assembly and operation Disassemble or assemble machine parts. Draw diagrams of parts. Do take off dimensioning of parts. Read blue prints and diagrams. Make lists of materials needed. This position typically works 8 hour shifts and on occasion may be required to work 1st shift and 2nd shift, or 12 hour shifts.
