Duties:
• Prepare statistical reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses; vacation, sick,
disability and workers compensation leave; taxes, withholding, etc.
• Oversee the distribution of paychecks or arranges direct deposit programs.
• Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with multi-state wage and hour laws
• Process payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner
• Analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
• Assist with general ledger reconciliation related to payroll accounts
• Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local tax regulations and ensure compliance
• File, sort and organize and maintain general and confidential employee files.
• Perform daily payroll department operational tasks.
Experience:
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working with multi-state payroll system
preferred
• Detail oriented and effective communicator leading the payroll department
• Expert time management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
• Previous experience as a Payroll Supervisor or similar role
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and procedures
• Experience answering queries and fixing payroll issues
• Knowledge of state and federal wage and tax laws and overtime requirements
• Proficiency in using payroll software and systems
• Familiarity with accounting principles and practices
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues or discrepancies
• Ability to function well under pressure and handle confidential information with
discretion.
